I'm a licensed mental health counselor who graduated from Ball State University with my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychological Science. I worked in emergency departments and the criminal justice system as well as a private practice in the North Shore before establishing Serenity Now Counseling, LLC in 2021.
I specialize in trauma and am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) but use other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) depending on client needs. I serve all ages and populations suffering with anxiety, depression, women's issues and a variety of mental health challenges.
My approach is solution focused and improving emotional intelligence to grow lifelong skills regardless of duration of therapeutic relationship. I enjoy making therapy a comfortable environment for all and reducing negative stigmas typically associated with personal self-improvement.

My name is Ifemide S Ayo, and I'm an LMHC, who is passionate about improving mental health in others. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, and depression disorders but am experienced to serve various other issues like other mood disorders, communication issues, autism spectrum, life transitions, Men's issues, self-esteem issues, etc.
I received my bachelor's in psychology from Western Connecticut state University and earned my mental health counseling graduate degree at Cambridge College. I prefer to use a Person-centered approach in order to accomplish S.M.A.R.T goals for each prospective client.
I utilize modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavioral therapy as the best treatment modality for its result on modifying behaviors, increasing self-empowerment, building healthy interpersonal relationships, reframing thoughts, and identifying healthy emotional responses. I strongly believe that changing your mind can change your life.
